GAME phase-2 Collected Data for 1997-2002
|
|
- Edited by:
- K. Takahashi and Y. Agata
- Description:
-
The GAME (GEWEX Asian Monsoon Expriment) project had been conducted since 1996
to understand the role of Asian Monsoon in the global energy and water cycle.
With tight international cooperation, we got very successful results including
observation data mainly through the Intensive Observation Period (IOP in 1998),
according to the original GAME implementation plan. After this first phase of
the GAME project, the second phase had been conducted for three years (2002-2004
in Japanese fiscal year) in order to attain its original aims based on
achievements obtained through the GAME phase 1 with emphasizing on crosscutting
synthesis of GAME research activities.
At the seventh GAME International Sciences Panel meeting held in 2003, we
adopted the proposal for the GAME database development. The aim of this proposal
is to develop the GAME database by collecting mainly surface and upper routine
observation data so as to promote research activities in the GAME phase 2.
In the GAME project, some regional intensive observations were carried out in
other years (ex. Hubex in 1999, Siberia in 2000). Against above-mentioned
sistuation, we collected surface and upper routine observation data for
1996-2002 (7 years) which is corresponded to the GAME phase 1 as research
resources to assist the comparative study among the GAME sub-regions in
hydrometeorilogical characteristics.
The most of data in this CD-ROM are available online at GAME-T2 Data center.

GAME-AAN Data DVD ver. 3.0
|
|
- Edited by:
- M. Sugita, D. Nohara, S. Miyazaki, T. Yamanaka, F. Kimura and
Y. Yasunari
- Description:
-
This DVD contains GAME AAN data
set obtained by the Automatic Weather Station Network which has
been deployed since 1996 over the Asian Monsoon Region. The data
set includes not only the regular meteorological and hydrological
variables but also the surface fluxes of momentum, heat and water
vapor together with relevant surface and subsurface data such as
vegetation and soil. It is intended primarily for use by
scientists interested in surface-atmosphere interaction, modeling,
Monsoon, etc. but could serve other purposes such as education as
well.
