AMY Data Workshop 2010: agenda and minutes

AMY Reanalysis by MRI/JMA (Hirotaka Kamahori / MRI-JMA)

Meteorological Research Institute of Japan Meteorological Agency will conduct atmospheric reanalyis of AMY.

The target period is 2 years of 2008 and 2009. (Detail is flexible.)

The coverage is global, horizontal resolution is ca. 60 km, temporal resolution is 3 hours (cf. 6 hours in past reanalyses e.g. JRA25).

The products will be distributed through the Internet.

The major input of the reanlaysis is observational data in the following kinds:

• surface meteorology
• upper-air
• ship and buoy
• aircraft
• satellite (motion vector, NOAA, DMSP, ...)
• wind profiler.

The following products will be made.

• analyses on model grids (640x320; ca. 60 km grid)
• analyses on p-levels (1.25 deg., ca. 140 km grid)
• physical monitor (flux, radiation, heating rate etc.)

A global data assimilation system is used.
