Hydrogeological states
The Quaternary period deposits consist mainly of sandy aquifer formations, the most important being the medium granular and fine sand with a thickness of more than 250 m (Liang et al., 2003). There are no continuous impermeable layers as deep as drill reached depth. The groundwater depth is less than 3 m except for some local parts in the north and south. Canal loss and filed infiltration are the most important groundwater recharge due to shallow groundwater table and developed irrigation system.
